Fortnite Communities Guidelines

The Rules

When using Fortnite Communities, you agree to follow Epic Games Terms of Service. All behavior and content in Fortnite Communities must adhere to Epic Games Community Rules and Content Guidelines.

Paid Content

If you create paid branded or commercial content, which is content that you have been compensated for (i.e. received anything of value, including money, goods, and/or services) by others, you are responsible for complying with any applicable laws around disclosing your relationship with the sponsor.

Paid content must follow all the rules above, and must not:

  • Promote the purchase, sale, or trade of any real-world medical, pharmaceutical, or supplemental product or service;
  • Promote the purchase, sale, or trade of real-world explosives, firearms, or ammunition;
  • Promote the purchase, sale, or trade of real-world tobacco, alcohol, marijuana (regardless of legality), illegal drugs, and other illegal, contraband, or regulated goods;
  • Promote deceptive or harmful real-world financial products and services;
  • Promote real-world dating, romantic introductions, or hook-ups;
  • Promote or solicit for a real-world religion, political candidate or organization, or military organization.

Announcements in Fortnite

Any content that you share as an announcement in Fortnite, in your Island Lobby or in Community Highlights, must also adhere to the Fortnite Developer Rules and be appropriate for a general audience. For example, URLs and calls to action outside of Fortnite are not allowed in your Island Lobby and Community Highlights. Do not post repetitive content that might disrupt another user’s experience. If you are sharing an Announcement on an island that is currently in Sponsored Row, you must also follow the Sponsored Row Content Rules.

Intellectual Property

Participation in an IP Partner Licensing Program (LEGO, TMNT, etc.) does not grant permission to use a Partner's intellectual property in your Community name, icon, or art banner. Use of Partner IP in Announcements is limited to channels linked to IP Partner Licensing Program islands, and is subject to the Partner's Brand Rules for promotional material.

Enforcement

Not following these rules may lead to escalating enforcement actions, from warning and disabled content up to a permanent account ban for severe or repeated offenses.

Reporting

If you encounter content that violates the rules, please report it directly in Communities by clicking the three-dots menu next to any post or reply and selecting Report. Or, notify us via our Safety and Security Center.

Community Moderation Tools

In addition to Epic's rules, Community owners can make their own rules for their community. If any content is created in their community that violates their community's rules, they can delete it.
