A new mini content update for Escape Grul is now live. This update adds two new purchasable items along with a few other changes.
Portal Gun 🌀
The Portal Gun is a new item that can be purchased in the starting room. Once purchased the Portal Gun will become permanently unlocked.
The Portal Gun will teleport Grul to a random location in the house when he is hit by the weapon.
Grul Slippies 👟
The Grul Slippies are a new powerup that can be purchased in the starting room. Once purchased the Grul Slippies will become permanently unlocked.
Pickup the Grul Slippies to apply a 2x movement boost for the entire duration of the game.
Voice chat 🔊
The proximity voice chat has been updated to use the new voice chat system.
The volume of player voices will change depending on their distance and position.
Player voices will become harder to hear when they are blocked by objects.
Other adjustments 🔧
A vent has been added to the basement cage which can be used as an alternative to escape from the cage when captured.
Added gameplay tips during the opening scene.
Updated the frozen key visual appearance.
Updated the textures for wooden planks.
Adjusted the location of the crowbar slightly.
Increased Grul's footstep sounds by 100% during horror mode.
Bug fixes 🐛
Fixed an issue where the CCTV camera UI would break and cause players to become stuck on the cameras.
Adjusted Grul's hitbox to fix an issue where Grul would become immune to damage.
Leaderboard 🏆
The speedrun leaderboard has been updated with the latest submissions.
