Hey Fortpoolers! 🎱🔥
First of all, a huge thank you for your continuous support, feedback, and passion for FortPool. Every match you play, every poll you answer, and every suggestion you drop keeps this map alive and growing. You guys are the real reason we keep pushing!
FortPool a1.2.0 (Alpha) is live!
This is a big foundational update that opens a lot of new doors.
🧩 Itemization System: We introduced a full itemization subsystem. It lets us create and manage Fortnite-style items directly inside the map. This doesn’t change the core experience much yet, but it’s the base that will allow future mechanics, minigames, and deeper content while staying true to Fortnite’s game design.
🎱 Experimental Physics & Throwable Objects: Thanks to the new system, general physics is now enabled (not only on the table). You can already pick up and throw pool balls around the room as decorative/experimental items. They’re still in testing and don’t have full gameplay functions yet, but feel free to mess around with them!
⚖️ Physics Calibration Following the latest community poll, we slightly lowered the physics threshold by one unit. There was a good balance between “keep it” and “lower it”, so we decided to move one step and leave room for further tuning. The poll has been reset — go vote again so we can lock in the final feel!
🎮 New Input System The entire input system has been rebuilt.
With the Harvesting Tool selected → classic billiards inputs work as usual (now top down view button is "Reload").
With any other item equipped → normal Fortnite inputs take priority (no more accidental shots while you’re trying to use something).
All inputs now run through the native Verse system (this also fixed remapping issues on controller and keyboard). Top-down camera key has been changed from Aim to Reload.
🎨 New Cues & Cosmetics Two new purchasable cues with in-game gold:
Pixel – retro low-poly pixelated style
Food Themed – fully themed around food
Plus the exclusive Elder Cue for supporters who use the in-island transaction. Many more colors are now available for cue customization, and they join the existing Alpha and Sword Cue.
🖥️ UI Overhaul + World UMG All interfaces have been redesigned, cleaned up, and improved. We also introduced World UMG (3D world-space UI) used for buying cues and showing information. They’re still a bit unstable, so we’re keeping them simple for now, but they will expand a lot as they mature. Better tooltips, clearer cue customization feedback, and improved visual cues to start a game.
🤖 LLM Coach Meet your new personal coach! Powered by the Persona Device, the LLM Coach knows everything about FortPool. Ask it questions via voice chat, get tips, and receive advice anytime.
🛠️ General Fixes & Improvements A bunch of under-the-hood fixes and polish across the board.
We’re already working on the next wave of advanced features thanks to the new possibilities unlocked by Scene Graph.
Expect more complex and longer game modes in the future: tournaments, special international rulesets, and dedicated minigames.
Important: the core Quick Game experience will stay exactly as it is. Anyone will always be able to jump in and play a fast match on the fly.
Thank you again for being part of this journey. See you on the table! 🎱❤️
