Development on this project has been less active due to other priorities but it doesn't mean it will stop anytime soon. Right now this project is just to showcase my material work for a realism looking moon environment, with a to-scale terrain backdrop of all the Apollo mission landing sites. There isn't much to do content-wise, and as a map, it's very performance heavy. So I'm considering cutting down on some content to make it easier to work with; the current idea is to isolate the environment to the Taurus–Littrow valley (Apollo 17) and implement edutainment based content/features that were present throughout that mission, so that players can navigate the landscape to visit work stations and learn historical information about the valley and Apollo 17 mission.
And another thing, I'm also working on a new 'Moon Base' game where players will have to survive and manage their resources on a Lunar Station for as long as possible. Now it is in very early development and is also out of my skill range. Like most ideas I have for Fortnite maps, I can only do so much with what I know, so it will be a learning curve to program a project like this with an evolving tool like Verse & Scene Graph in UEFN. On the other hand it gives me an excuse to continue the art side of the project to better revise it's looks and optimization across platforms.
Eventually Apollo Moon will get an updated for better visuals, once I finish the art assets in Unreal Engine 5.8.2 and adjust it for UEFN standards. Until then, check out some of my other maps like PVP TESTING GROUNDS or The Ice Moon | Mecha Crash site for recent works.
