Rentopoly 2.0 has been in a broken / outdated state for quite some time now, the latest update fixes these issues!!
The update introduces loads of QOL improvements, including a brand new trading system!
From now on, Rentopoly 2.0 will be known as just Rentopoly, the first iteration of this game is now longer available anyways.
Here are some key changes:
🔹No more remotes!
Lets be honest, the remotes were clunky and hard to understand. You can now play the game by using your keybinds directly, listed on the left side of your screen!
🔸No more golden coins!
The old currency system was annoying and unsafe to use, dropping coins to trade that other players could steal. The new system uses dollars, automatically added / removed from your balance!
🔹Optional ways of moving around the board!
You now have the option to move to your next tile yourself, acting as the pawn. Alternatively, you can also opt for a quick teleport if you're in a hurry!
🔸New UI!
All of the game UI has been redone, this ranges from informational pop-ups to interactive UI and player info like balance and their current state! The new tile management UI will now also only show tiles you can actually manage for that category instead of showing all tiles with some options being grayed out. If you don't have any tiles to manage it will show you an error instead.
🔹Building changes!
Buildings are now able to be build up one by one instead of spending a good chunk of money for a complete set, the one condition with this is that there can be no more than 1 building difference per color group. Along with this change, there are only a limited amount of buildings available now. This makes it so it is not possible to have hotels or 4 houses available on all tiles. The amount of buildings available can be seen in the bottom right of your screen!
🔸Trading with other players!
Lets face it, trading was painfull to do before, transferring tiles and dropping coins hoping the other player would keep to their word. The new trading interface gets rid of these issues! Players can now open a trading menu with other players, allowing them to trade up to 3 tiles and 10k cash in a safe and easy way. Once both players agree to trade, they can both lock in and a 3 second timer will start, once completed, the trade will be completed and executed, easy as that! If any offer changes during this timer it will unlock both trades and the timer will reset! The trade will automatically validate when both players are locked in, it will give you the error reason if the trade is invalid.
There are multiple other changes like vault tile improvements and more special cards, but the most important ones are listed above!
