Umm... Hi! It's been almost half a year since the latest update. In that time I have been hard at work on a new update for Right Behind You. And this one is as big as 2.8.0 was. Let's start with something simple, and build up to the biggest updates.

New Shop

As we're slowly moving towards the 3.0 update, I have noticed that the current shop UI was starting to feel cramped and overloaded. In 2.9.0 I have completely reworked it. Now there are ability rarities, nameplates shown in the shop itself, code activation screen, shortcuts, and much more!

Daily Quests

Another change I'm making is the addition of Daily Quests. Every day you will be assigned 3 random quests, each more difficult than the other one. Complete them to get coins, and even more rewards in the future. In the meantime I will watch on your progress on my end, and make some changes if I find some of the quests too difficult.

The quests screen can be found when waiting for players, in the shop UI, and in the team spawn room (Hunters' Spawn or Church).

Less players - Less work to do

Up until this point, if you've played with a smaller party, your objectives would have stayed the same regardless. With 2.9.0 I have reworked how tasks work, and if you don't have a full party of survivors, the required amounts of transmitters, pumpkins, and even portals get decreased.

Rework of the remote gates access

Remember that useless ability? I have an amazing update for it. First of all, gates are now placed all across the map. And to make it better, the remote access now closes the gates that you look at instead of the closest one.

List of changes

  • The lack of player decreases the amount of needed tasks now. It will make winning an achievement instead of a miracle.

  • Monster's Scan ability cooldown gets scaled depending on the amount of hunters now.

  • Enabled sliding for hunters.

  • Set the rescuing interaction to be the same as the plank-adjusting interaction, meaning that you won't have to look up to rescue a player.

  • Reworked the portals to take less memory.

  • Replaced the standard daily reward with new daily quests.

  • Made changes to the level to further decrease the memory consumption.

  • Added a new path to the prison to improve the chances for survivors to win.

  • Flashlights have been updated. Now the weak flashlight is no longer visible to other players.

  • The fog no longer blocks lights. In other words, if there's a bright area, the fog won't affect it anymore. It also works for flashlights.

  • The distance and brightness of strong flashlights have been increased.

  • Players can no longer jump into fireplaces.

  • You can now ready up by using a direct action instead of pressing the button.

  • Added a live event system.

  • Increased the loading range, which may worsen stability on low-end devices.

  • Completely revamped the shop UI.

  • Added hotkey support in the code activation UI.

  • Added more coins to the level.

  • Added gates all across the map.

  • Replaced the music with new 41.10 samples. The music will further be improved in future versions.

  • Added rain to the outside of the castle.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed the player save not updating correctly after not playing for a while.

  • Fixed localization for the Back button.

  • Tasks are now properly removed from the scene instead of becoming invisible.

  • Fixed the survivors win being delayed.

  • Fixed some players being shown the shopping screen even when joining late.

  • Fixed tasks showing default material.

  • Fixed the game crashing under specific circumstances.

  • Fixed the floor 1 map having incorrect details.

Known issues

  • The monster can see the interaction with portals. This is purely a visual bug on Fortnite's end.

  • Players can sometimes not get teleported on the local screen. This is also a Fortnite bug. The only workaround that we know of is to get knocked and picked up by someone else.
