The BIGGEST UPDATE YET is finally here!

We've been working really hard on this massive update 💪💪—we hope you like it as much as we do! ❤️

We're open to all kinds of suggestions about Monsters or anything else in our Fortnite community or on our Discord server! 🤗

⭐ New Monsters: Golden Freddy, Slenderman, Ignited Bonnie, Monty, and Doey

⭐ Overhauled 4 Monster Skills!

⭐ Overhauled Elimination Animation & UI!

⭐ Major Map Optimizations!

⭐ Increased Achievement Rewards!

⭐ And many more bug fixes and changes!

[NEW!]

  • Golden Freddy has been added to the Monster Selection!

  • Slenderman has been added to the Monster Selection!

  • Ignited Bonnie has been added to the Monster Selection!

  • Monty has been added to the Monster Selection!

  • Doey has been added to the Monster Selection!

  • Various balance changes have been made to the following Monsters:

    • [FOXY]: Burntrap’s 3D model has been replaced with Foxy’s because it had too many polygons and we didn’t like it very much, and the Monster’s name has been changed to Foxy.

    • [FOXY]: Special Skill modified.

      • OLD: Burntrap uses its accumulated rage to target a random Survivor for 1 minute; during that minute, Burntrap can track that Survivor’s location at all times and increases its speed by 15%.

      • NEW: Foxy uses his pent-up rage to target a random Survivor for 20 seconds. During that time, Foxy can track that Survivor’s location at all times, and his movement speed increases by 20%.

    • [CATNAP]: Special Skill modified.

      • OLD: CatNap restricts Survivors’ camera movement, preventing them from moving it for a period of time.

      • NEW: CatNap prays to The Prototype and gains a random effect from the following:

        • BUFF 1: Increases movement speed by 40% for 7 seconds.

        • BUFF 2: Increases hitbox by 50% for 7 seconds.

        • BUFF 3: Lulls players into a sweet sleep, paralyzing survivors for 5 seconds.

    • [INK DEMON]: Special Skill modified.

      • OLD: Ink Demon increases its movement speed based on how many survivors are still alive for 10 seconds; each living survivor grants 20% speed.

      • NEW: Ink Demon sinks into a pool of ink for 10 seconds; during those 5 seconds, its movement speed increases by 70% but it cannot kill. Upon resurfacing, it appears at the location where the pool was, and the speed buff is removed.

  • [GLITCHTRAP]: Special Skill modified.

    • OLD:

      • PASSIVE: CHANGING VIRUS, CHANGING VIRUS: Its Special Ability becomes a new type of ability: Strategy Shift

        • When Strategy Shift is activated, which changes how the Monster is played, it has 2 gameplay modes.

        • EXPANSIVE VIRUS: Glitchtrap’s base speed increases by 150%, but its hitbox is reduced by 30%.

        • TROJAN VIRUS: Glitchtrap’s hitbox increases by 200%, but its base speed is reduced by 50%.

    • NEW:

      • Charge-type Special Skill (WHILE CHARGE-TYPE SKILLS ARE CHARGING, MONSTERS ARE IMMOBILIZED FOR THE DURATION OF THE CHARGE). Glitchtrap begins spreading its lethal virus everywhere for 6 seconds. When Glitchtrap fully charges, the virus runs with administrator privileges, causing survivors to be marked and paralyzed for 5 seconds. After the virus dissipates, Glitchtrap is slowed by 30% for 6 seconds.

[OPTIMIZATION]

  • Performance has been significantly improved when using Instanced Static Meshes on the Space Ship, Hospital, and Prison maps.

    • This will reduce average GPU usage—let us know what you think!

  • Lights on the Hospital and Prison maps no longer cast volumetric shadows.

[CHANGES]

  • The button to activate the Standard Skill has been changed.

  • The Monster Selection timer UI has been updated.

  • The Music UI has been updated.

  • The Roadmap UI has been updated.

  • The Tutorial UI has been updated.

  • The Map Selection UI has been updated.

  • The area for viewing Monsters has been significantly expanded and redesigned.

  • The appearance of the Monster Selection User Interface has been modified.

  • The animation of the User Interface when a Survivor is eliminated has been modified.

  • The reward for completing Achievements has been increased:

    • Easy: 400 > 1000

    • Medium: 1250 > 5000

    • Hard: 5500 > 25000

    • The progress for all Easy and Medium difficulty achievements has been reset for all players; any player who has completed an achievement can complete it again and will receive the corresponding reward.

  • We have reverted to the old Survivors' Lantern system due to memory-related issues.

    • The Lantern will now be disabled when the round ends.

  • The Patch Notes system has been modified:

    • Previously, there was one device for each Patch Note we published.

    • Now, there is a single device that manages all Patch Notes.

      • Due to this change, all Patch Notes from version 6.0.0 and earlier have been removed.

[FIXES]

  • Fixed an issue that prevented Omni Man's selection cutscene from displaying properly.

  • Fixed a bug that caused the reward for successfully escaping the Spacecraft map to not be awarded correctly to Survivors.

  • Fixed a bug that caused messages to display incorrectly when Bendy teleported on the Spacecraft map.

  • Fixed a bug that caused the reward for touching Freddy’s stuffed animal’s nose to be awarded to all players instead of the instigator.

    • Achievement progress has been reset for all players; all players who have completed the achievement can complete it again and will be awarded the corresponding reward.

  • Fixed a bug that caused the camera to be in the wrong position when the Xenomorph selection cutscene played.

  • Fixed a bug that prevented Foxy’s Special Skill (formerly Burntrap) from granting the Monster a speed boost.
