Happy New Years everyone!
We're starting off the year with Chronos' first test week: for the next week, the following movement abilities are enabled:
-Wall Scrambling
-Wall Kicking
-Roll Landing
-Hurdling
-Mantling
I think these 5 movement abilities improve upon the original Fortnite movement, without making the mode feel just like the new ones.
Along with the movement additions, there's a whole bunch of balancing changes, aesthetic updates and more!
Gameplay Additions/Vaults:
-Semi-Auto Sniper Vaulted
Upon Chronos' release, I had not realized that the Creative version of this weapon is the buffed Season OG variant, which frankly is way too strong; unless Epic adds Figment versions of the sniper, the Semi-Auto will remain vaulted.
-Snowball Launcher, Chillers and Chiller Grenades vaulted
With the Christmas season coming to an end, it's time for these wintery items to head to the Vault. They won't be gone forever though ;)
-Pistols upgraded to their full-auto variants
This change is meant to give pistols much more viability, as well as fix a bug with the Suppressed Pistol's audio. This QOL change was first added in Season OG, and I feel it's one of the more welcome changes that I feel comfortable with introducing into Chronos.
-Suppressed AR, Clingers, and Bouncers added
These three fan-favorites have made their way to the Chronos island! Sneak up on unsuspecting players, have a bit of explosive fun, and bounce your way across the battlefield!
Now, onto the aesthetic updates:
-Nighttime brightness increased
I felt like Chronos' current nighttime was a bit too dark, so this change brings it closer to the original Chapter 1 look.
-Sunrise/Sunset ambient lighting adjusted
During sunsets and sunrises, the lack of sunlight and the current ambient settings made the environment look darker than even the nighttime is: I'm hoping this adjustment balances out the lighting a bit more.
-Grass materials updated
The grass across the Island has been updated and given patches of brighter grass tips; this change is meant to help the grass pop out better, since lower-light environments would make the grass seem like a single blank color.
Thank you all once again for playing Chronos, and I look forward to talking to you all next week! Be sure to stay tuned for Chronos' next test week; it'll be sure to shake things up big time ;)
