Let's take it back to the days when we used to stand in line at the arcade waiting for our turn to play that new game that just arrived. We would place our quarter on the screen effectively joining the queue to play next. When the player in front of us was eliminated it was our turn to shine on the stage!
This new version of Dan Johns Music 1v1 introduces a queue system that allows for up to 6 players to join the map at once. If it's not your turn to battle you are kept in the lobby to view. When the loser is determined they are teleported to the lobby to wait while you are teleported to the center stage. If you want to take a break from the battle queue you can always spectate from afar as well by entering the spectate zone.
