We’ve been adding some new ways to make the course worse for everyone. And, apparently, the ship wasn’t dangerous enough already.

✨ What’s New?

  • 💨 Air Vent: Pushes players in one direction. Great for creating shortcuts. Even better for sending someone straight into a trap.

  • 🕹️ Pinball Flippers: Two platforms that open and close on a timer. Get your timing right, or enjoy the view from the respawn point.

  • 🌲 New Map - Forest: A brand new environment to build your Deathrun in. Hopefully the trees don’t get any ideas.

  • ✴️ Spikes Got Smarter: The spikes now retract for a few seconds, giving players an actual chance to get through. Whether they deserve it is another question.

  • ⛈️ Stormy Pirate Ship: Lightning can now strike the ship during the storm. Watch for static on the ground.

  • 🚂 The Derailment Got Worse: The remaining train tracks are now electrified. Maybe don’t touch those.

  • ⚡ New Elimination Animation: Getting electrocuted now comes with its own special way of saying “well, that went badly."

🔧 A Few More Things

We also made some smaller changes to make the game easier to understand and keep track of:

  • Added how-to-play tips to the lobby.

  • Added a round counter above the timer.

  • Your player color is now highlighted on the score screen.

  • The solo finish bonus no longer applies when you’re the only player in the map. Nice try.

🐛 Known Issue

There’s still a weird one: sometimes players who join a match already in progress can move in full 3D and walk into the background of the stage. We’ve tried a few different ways to mitigate it, but it can still happen.

We’ll keep working on it.

That’s it for this update. What do you think of the new pieces and maps? And what should we make worse next?
